Duplex and super duplex pipe and tube carry seawater, produced water, brines and chloride-bearing process fluids at high pressure. For duplex piping, send outside diameter, wall thickness or schedule, length, seamless or welded construction, grade and specification, together with any project testing such as impact, ferrite or corrosion tests. Seamless pipe is common in smaller sizes and high pressure, while welded A928 pipe is often more economical for larger diameters.

Duplex tubulars combine high strength with resistance to chloride stress-corrosion cracking and pitting, so walls can often be thinner than with 316L. That reduces weight and cost in long seawater lines, offshore piping and exchanger bundles.
